How randomness works
This tool uses the Web Crypto API getRandomValues function built into your browser. That is cryptographically secure pseudorandom output suitable for password generation — not Math.random, which is predictable.

Exclude ambiguous characters
When enabled, characters that look alike (0 and O, l and 1, I) are omitted from the pool. Useful when you might read the password aloud or type it on a device where fonts are small.
