About This Tool
Content limits show up everywhere: SEO titles, meta descriptions, captions, essays, support macros, and form maxlength rules. Rankify word counter updates as you type or paste — words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, paragraphs, lines, estimated reading and speaking time, page length, and top keyword density — entirely in your browser.
No upload and no account. Paste a blog draft, product description, localization string, or README section and instantly see whether you are under a soft length guide or over a hard character budget. Built for writers, marketers, students, and developers who need fast, private text statistics.
Common use cases
- •Inspect HTTP headers and user-agent strings
- •Analyze email headers for phishing investigation
- •Generate strong passwords for staging environments
Why use Rankify for ?
- Live counts with no submit step.

Why word and character counts still matter
Search snippets truncate around 155–160 characters. Short social posts often hard-cap near 280. Form validation rejects oversize bios. A live counter removes guesswork when you are iterating copy in the browser.
Localization expands strings — German or French lines frequently exceed English source length. Count characters before sending keys to translators or shipping UI.
Reading time and speaking time
Reading time helps editors judge whether a blog intro is skim-friendly. Speaking time helps presenters size scripts for videos and talks. Rankify uses ~200 wpm for reading and ~130 wpm for speaking — industry-common averages, not a guarantee for every audience.
Pair speaking estimates with rehearsal; pair reading estimates with actual analytics once the page is live.
Length guides for drafting
Soft guides for SEO titles (~60), meta descriptions (~160), short posts (~280), and SMS-length notes (~160) show progress bars against your current character total. They are drafting aids, not affiliation with any platform.
Stay under the bar for titles that must fit SERP displays; use without-spaces counts when a portal strips whitespace from its limit.
Keyword density without the jargon trap
Top keywords highlight repeated terms after filtering common stop words. Density is a percentage of all tokens — useful for spotting overuse, not for stuffing.
Natural writing beats chasing a magic percentage. Use the table to revise, then re-read aloud.
Word count methodology
Words are tokens separated by whitespace after trimming edges. Empty input reports zero. Character totals include letters, digits, punctuation, emoji, and spaces; characters without spaces exclude whitespace.
Sentence count splits on . ? ! followed by space or end of string. Decimal numbers and abbreviations can produce false boundaries — treat sentence stats as estimates.
Client-side privacy
Press releases and launch posts stay on your device. Counting does not upload draft text to Rankify servers.
Clear the editor after sensitive work on shared machines.

Tips for accurate counts
Paste exactly what will ship — including or excluding trailing spaces to match the target form.
Near a hard limit, verify emoji and combining characters on the destination platform; code-point counting can differ.
Important notes & limitations
- Sentence detection is heuristic — abbreviations like Dr. may inflate counts.
- Word boundaries follow whitespace rules — hyphenated compounds vary by locale.
- Reading/speaking times are averages, not personalized pace models.
- Keyword density ignores multi-word phrases and stemming.
- Very large pastes may slow live updates — split huge documents if needed.

No. Statistics compute in your browser. Nothing is sent to Rankify servers for counting.
Punctuation attached to words stays with the word token. Character counts include all punctuation separately.
Sentences split on . ? ! followed by space or end of text. Abbreviations may cause approximate counts.
