How the 7th Pay estimate is built

Dearness allowance is basic pay × the DA percent you type ÷ 100. House rent allowance is a percent of basic pay. The percent depends on the city class and on whether DA is at or below 25%, above 25%, or above 50%: X/Y/Z cities use 24/16/8, then 27/18/9, then 30/20/10.

NPS in this estimate is 10% of (basic + DA). Gross here is basic + DA + HRA. It leaves out transport allowance, special pay, tax, and other deductions your office may apply.
